Colorado Businessman Charged for Selling Fake Online Casinos
David Howe, a businessman from Colorado was in court Tuesday facing charges of selling fake online casinos.
Mr. Howe is the head of Venture Concepts and he is facing fraud, illegal gambling and computer crimes and providing illegal gambling information.
Venture Concepts is the company operated by Howe that sells to people through the ads for business opportunities working from home.
The advertisement of the company shows that those interested in operating online casinos can give one thousand dollars as a payment to operate poker rooms, online sportsbooks and an online casino.
Venture Concepts ads said that over twenty five thousand dollars will be the income in just three months.
However, the buyers learned that another nine thousand dollars is required for marketing purposes in order to receive traffic and business from the site.
A victim of the scam had contacted a television news program in Denver which then made an investigative report.
Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Arizona Department of Gaming then made through investigation regarding the scam.
Venture Concepts was ordered closed and all the online gambling sites are now offline and cancelled.
The gaming commission advised the public to be on guard regarding the scam to own and operate online casino.
